TiVo Desktop 2.5 is now available for download. This update officially supports Windows XP with Service Pack 2 as well as Windows Vista.

TiVo has released an update for TiVo Desktop which fixes a crash bug in 2.3.

Well, that didn't take long. TiVo user Todd D. Perlmutter took the TiVo Converter hacks that Dave Zatz discovered and wrote a wrapper to make it easy. So now you can convert .tivo files to any of the profiles in the XML configuration file with a simple to use GUI.

Dave Zatz at zatznotfunny has found a way to use the new TiVo Desktop 2.3 to transcode previously transferred recordings, and to use different profiles that the defaults in the UI. hey, quick question... I know if I ask here I'll get an answer way quicker than me trying to find it, besides I don't have the paitence right now to do that... I'm leaving for NC tomorrow (From FL) and will be stuck in a hotel for some of that trip. I'd liek to transfer some shows from my tivo to my laptop. It isn't TiVoToGo, yet, but TiVoToComeBack (publishing video TO the TiVo) is available in the recent 1.9.3 release for MacOS. It looks like it isn't complete, so it was disabled by default, but Dennis Wilkinson over at TiVoCommunity.com has discovered how to enable the feature.

Dan203 has done it again with his TiVo Desktop Universal Audio Plug-in. This is a plug-in for the Windows TiVo Desktop. It will convert in real-time any audio format that can be played using DirectShow on Windows for playback on the TiVo - like unprotected AAC, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, WAV, etc.
